Where can I find TelLabs Q81 compensators?

Back to "Music From Outer Space" Analog Synth Pages

Well the short answer to that direct question is NOWHERE. This part seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth. Some say it died of a rare disease others say that an asteroid collided with the earth and that the Q81 became extinct... HOWEVER...

I have found a place that will make a part with the same specs for you. It is the Precision Resistor company in Florida, USA.

PRECISION RESISTOR CO., INC.

These folks will manufacture a 2K temperature compensator with +3300ppm/degree C @ 25C for about $8.00 apiece when you get more than ten pieces. Call Arleen for more info.

They have a stock 1K temperature compensator with +3350ppm/degree C @ 25C (PT146) for about $5.00 apiece.

Don't thank me, just go build something (something temperature compensated, that is...) that makes cool sounds!
